Posted on July 19, 2025

Recent Launch of Starlink Satellites

On a Friday night, July 18, the company successfully added 24 new Starlink satellites to its orbital network. The launch took place from California, marking another milestone in the expansion of the satellite internet service.

The Falcon 9 rocket, which is known for its reliability and reusability, lifted off at 8:52 p.m. local time (11:52 p.m. EDT or 0352 GMT on July 19) from Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Force Base. This was a significant moment as the rocket began its journey into space with the goal of deploying the new satellites.

Approximately nine minutes into the flight, the booster’s upper stage delivered the two dozen satellites into space. The process of placing these satellites into their designated orbits was completed an hour later, according to updates shared on the social media platform. This step is crucial for ensuring that the satellites can begin their mission of providing internet connectivity to remote areas.

The Falcon 9 first stage made history by completing its 14th mission. It successfully landed on “Of Course I Still Love You,” an autonomous droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean. This achievement highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable space exploration and cost-effective launches.

This particular launch was the 88th Falcon 9 launch of 2025 and the 516th completed mission overall. With the addition of the latest batch of satellites, the Starlink network now includes over 7,965 active units out of the more than 9,200 satellites launched since 2019. This growth underscores the company’s ongoing efforts to expand global internet access.

Starlink’s service provides broadband internet access to areas where traditional connectivity options are limited or unavailable. Additionally, it offers direct-to-cell capabilities for select phones and providers, enhancing communication in remote locations.

The launch was confirmed by the company, with all 24 satellites deployed as planned. This successful mission reflects the progress being made in the field of satellite technology and its potential to transform how people access the internet worldwide.

As the company continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in space, the impact of its services on communities around the globe becomes increasingly evident. With each launch, the vision of a more connected world moves closer to reality.
